Kyoshi Mizutani " Transcend Sideways " CD
Former member of Merzbow, K. Mizutani has a scarce discography over the last ten years (more info here).
This four tracks CD is inspired by the spirit of the air and the "Transcend Sideways", an expression about a way to be born in pure land of Tariki buddhist (from the liner notes). The four tracks are quite different. The first one which is the harshest/noisiest of the album is an massive network of white and feedback noises.
On the second track, a complex work including some backwards voice treatment, children screams and radio tunings creates a surreal outdoor ambiance. The next piece is composed of subtle high-frequencies interferences sometimes perturbated by bursting noises.
The last track is a static crossing of two hissing soundwaves which reminds me the digital hypnotizing minimal compositions of Koji Asano.
As a result, listening to this rich CD overrun by etheral feedback noises could actually make you experience the digital sonic incarnation of the air element.
In a nice folded carboard packaging.
