Guilty Connector "different water " CD
Amazing solo noise project of Kohei Nakagawa, Guilty Connector belongs to the new wave of japanese noise. He produces and maintain with energy his own label, Ustu Tapes. On this record, the main sonore source is field recordings of water in different places. But here, do not expect any intimate minimalist soundwork!
Apart from the deceiving beginning of the record which is a sound of water drops in crescendo, the rest of it is Noise Noise & eventually Noise and Pleasure. The sound is raw and powerful, including some short breaks of calm, processed segments. Lots of energy and inspiration in the triturated aggressive sound, mainly composed of repeating saturated bursts...
On the whole, a promising and pleasing record which however according to me does not attain the level of the incredible sonic assaults of Masonna (with whom Guilty Connector is generally compared because of his live performances).
